Gods and Goddesses [3]
Some dragons believe Eon rests on four pillars; the four Gods. Some believe only one of these are valid and choose to worship a single God. Others think all are nonexistent and dedicate themselves to science. The four 'pillars' are;
Daenera; The Goddess of Fertility and Life/Balance. She is interpreted often as a kind, benevolent goddess who protects pregnant females and young hatchlings. Some, however, believe her to be non-bias, only protecting the balance of life.
-To ask for a blessing, you must take an animal, (a chicken, a boar, squirrel, etc) and sacrifice it upon the stone of an altar. As the blood pours onto the shrine, you sing to her. Thus, she will recognise you and grant you her protection, either through your pregnancy or through a tough time.
-If you solely worship Daenera, it is considered a sin to destroy a tree without paying proper respect to it. This also applies to animals. Anything living belongs to Daenera, thus she demands respect be given to her creations.
Thorston; The God of Innocence and Purity. He is interpreted as a hearty, friendly god with scales made of gemstones and the skin underneath hard as rock. He is devoted to helping dragons avoid sin.
-To ask for his blessing, you must bring a rock or gemstone, the more valuable the better, and crack it upon the altar. This is for good luck to stop you from sinning, or to ask that any hatchlings you have be sturdy and strong.
-If you solely worship him, you should have at least one hatchling in you lifetime, either through adoption of having your own.
Reagal; The God of Death. This God will guide you through the hellish journey to the afterlife, shielding you with wings made of light, shining a way through the darkness. He doesn't speak, but he is interpreted as neutral. He's not evil, but not entirely benevolent. If you have been foul in your mortal life, he will send you to eternal suffering in the darkest realms. (Some now believe that this 'realm' is Oblivion)
-Reagal is a quiet God, thus he doesn't demand worship. What he does ask for is an offering of two bronze coins upon your death. This is why dragons who believe in him are buried with two bronze bronze coins in their right talons. It's the fee for his protection during the journey to the Afterlife, or to Oblivion, the Abyss, however you interpret Hell. You don't know until you're there.
-If you solely worship him, you must live a live free of sin. If you do sin, you must repent or you'll be dragged into the Abyss, or Oblivion.
Ghana: Goddess of Mischief and Temptation. This Goddess enjoys tempting dragons with sin and meddling in the affairs of mortals. She finds them most interesting. She's sometimes blamed for miscarriages, mental health challenges and untimely deaths. She is considered to be the darkest of the Gods. She enjoys making bargains with mortals, and then tricking them into her service or eternal suffering.
-Ghana enjoys drama and chaos. So if you're trying to get revenge, she is more likely to take an interest in you. It is believed that she will try tempt you with bargains. Sometimes she keeps true to her word, other times she tricks you. Many fear her and her influence.
-If you want her blessing (AKA bad luck on a dragon of your choosing, etc) you must go to her shrine and tell her what you want. Ghana hear you and help you. Or she might enslave you. Depends on the type of day she's had.
-She's an outcast from the other Gods and is rather bitter for being thrown out of their realm, so she is more likely to kill or doom someone who worships all the Gods.
